The D.O.T AIR BRAKE-NYLON TUBING Fittings Tee is a key component for branching or converging lines in a pneumatic braking system. The core value of the Tee is the multi-channel pressure equalization control and the flexibility to expand the system, especially in scenarios where multiple airflows need to be distributed or monitored at the same time.

 

High load scenario application:

 

1.Application for heavy duty trucks with multiple axle brake balancing, using tee (nylon tube inserted into three ends).

Role:

Divert the main air line to 3 groups of drive axle brake air chambers, through the fins to inhibit the pressure imbalance caused by the difference in the length of the pipeline of each bridge (balancing error <5%).

Installation specification:

The branch flow end is facing the brake air chamber to ensure that the direction of the flow guide is consistent with the air flow;

The difference in the length of each branch line should be controlled within 1.5m, and a pressure regulating valve should be added when it is exceeded.

 

2. Applied to bus air suspension and brake synergy, use Tee.

Role:

The main circuit connects to the brake valve, one circuit supplies the air suspension height valve, and the other circuit connects to the pressure sensor to realize automatic lowering of the suspension center of gravity during braking (data linkage response time <0.2 seconds).

 

Installation failure modes and countermeasures

Uneven flow in branch circuit:

Causes: Tee installed in wrong direction (e.g., guide fins reversed) or branch pipe diameter mismatch.
Solution: Use Tee models with laser flow direction markings and install them according to the arrows; the branch pipe diameter should be ≤ 70% of the main stream pipe diameter.

O-ring extrusion failure:

Causes: High-frequency pressure pulses (e.g., during ABS operation) lead to dynamic fatigue of the seal.
Solution: Use the limit groove design tee to limit O-ring displacement; or upgrade to polyurethane-nylon composite seal (pulse resistance > 1 million times).
