Benefits of Using Metric Tube Fitting

Precision and Compatibility
Because metric tube adapters are based on the metric system, they offer a high degree of precision, ensuring a perfect fit and compatibility with other components. This standardization reduces the risk of mismatched parts, which can lead to leaks and system failures.

Versatility in Application
Metric tube adapters are available in a wide range of sizes, materials, and configurations, making them suitable for various applications across different industries. Whether you need a fitting for a high-pressure aerospace application or a corrosion-resistant fitting for a marine environment, there is a metric tube fitting that meets your requirements.

Reliability and Leak Prevention
The design and construction of metric tube adapters are focused on creating a secure, leak-proof connection. Features such as compression ferrules, O-rings, and bite mechanisms ensure that once the fitting is properly installed, it maintains its integrity even under challenging conditions.

Ease of Installation
Many metric tube adapters are designed to be easy to install, requiring minimal tools and expertise. This ease of installation not only reduces the time required for system assembly but also minimizes the risk of installation errors that could lead to leaks.
Metric Parallel Thread (M Thread)
This is the standard metric thread type with a constant diameter throughout the threaded portion. This thread is ideal for low-pressure applications, is simple to manufacture, and is widely available.
Metric Tapered Threads
Tapered threads are conical in shape and are ideal for high-pressure applications. They provide excellent sealing capability and eliminate the need for secondary sealing methods such as O-rings.
Metric O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS)
These fittings have a flat face with an O-ring on the end to enhance sealing. ORFS fittings are known for their high-pressure capability and zero-leakage performance.
Flareless Threads (DIN 2353)
These metric threads have a metal-to-metal bite for effective pipe sealing and are excellent in medium to high-pressure applications.
Komatsu Metric Threads
These are metric threads specific to Komatsu machinery and differ slightly from standard metric threads.
Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS)
Although they are not technically metric threads, they are similar in many ways and are often used with standard metric fittings in machinery. They are primarily used in Japanese-made equipment.
Metric 24 Degree Tapered (DIN 3901/3902)
These fittings are commonly used in European hydraulic systems to provide a reliable high-pressure connection.
Materials of Metric Adapter
Stainless steel
This is a common material for metric hydraulic fittings, as it offers excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. 304SS offers great overall protection from ambient water and salt, but for corrosive chemicals, look for fittings in 316SS.
Brass
This is a softer material often used in low-pressure hydraulic systems, as it is less expensive than stainless steel. Rarely used in hydraulics, you tend to see brass more commonly in pneumatic systems.
Carbon steel
This is a strong and durable material that is commonly used in high-pressure hydraulic systems. More often than not, you see carbon steel plated in zinc or nickel to increase corrosion resistance.
Aluminum
This lightweight material is often used in mobile hydraulic systems, where weight is a concern. They're also used in specialty applications, such as fuel lines, for example.
Additional features for exhaust systems
Particle trap (GPF/DPF)
Gasoline engine particulate trap (GPF): Captures PM2.5 particulate matter and regenerates (passive/active) carbon combustion through high temperature.
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF): Regeneration through post-injector spray or addition of catalyst.
Variable Exhaust Valve (Exhaust Valve)
Balance between performance and silence: Closed valve at low rpm increases back pressure and reduces noise; fully open at high rpm reduces drag and increases power (e.g. Porsche Sport Exhaust system).
Exhaust heat recovery (some hybrid models)
Converts exhaust heat into electricity or for cabin heating through heat exchanger, improving energy utilization.
