A typical DOT Push-In Male Branch Tee Fixed construction consists of the following key components:

1. Solid Brass Body:

T-Shaped Runners: Precision machined internally to form perpendicular main and branch runners for smooth fluid flow.

High Strength and Corrosion Resistance: High quality brass provides excellent mechanical strength, pressure resistance and good corrosion resistance (care should be taken to avoid dezincification and corrosion risk environments).

2. Push-in straight through ports:

Construction: Each port contains:

Grab Rings: With sharp inner teeth, the pipe automatically bites the outer wall of the pipe after insertion, providing strong resistance to pull-out force.

O-Ring: Usually a high performance elastomer (e.g. NBR, FKM), located behind the gripping ring, provides a radial static seal to prevent fluid leakage.

Release Collar/Sleeve: Located at the outer end of the port, the stainless steel gripping ring is held open when pulled back, unlocking the pipe and making it easier to pull out.

Operation: Insert the flat cut, deburred pipe vertically into the port to the end and hear/feel the "click" to complete the locking. The connection is firm and reliable.

3. Male Thread Branch Port:

Construction: The end of the branch port is machined with standard male threads (e.g. NPT, BSPP).

Function: Used to screw directly into a female port on downstream equipment (e.g., cylinders, valves, gauges, filters, lubricators) or fittings (e.g., female elbows, female feedthroughs).

Sealing method: Threaded connections usually require a sealant (e.g. tape/thread sealant) or a sealing washer (if the connection is made with a flat sealing interface such as BSPP) to achieve a reliable seal.

4. Meaning of "Fixed":

The entire body of the fitting is of rigid one-piece construction.

Non-rotatable: Once the main line has been inserted into the two Run Ports, the orientation of the branch ports is completely fixed and cannot be rotated independently of the main line.

Installation Requirements: Installation requires a complete orientation of the fitting to ensure that the branch ports (male threads) are properly aligned with the threaded ports of the equipment to be connected.
