Core functions
1. Wear protection:
This is its most important function. The sleeve wraps around the outer layer of the nylon tube and acts as a wear-resistant barrier.
Effectively prevents the nylon tube from rubbing, scratching, cutting or abrading against the vehicle frame, other pipelines, metal edges, brackets or any sharp/rough surfaces that may come into contact.
Significantly extend the service life of the nylon tube and avoid pipeline rupture or leakage caused by wear.
2. Enhanced sealing (auxiliary function):
When the nylon tube is inserted into the DOT push-in connector, the sleeve is tightly pressed by the locking mechanism inside the connector (usually a barbed metal clamp or ferrule).
This helps to:
Fill the gap: Ensure a tighter fit between the outer diameter of the nylon tube and the inner wall of the connector.
Prevent deformation of the tube wall: Under the action of the locking force of the connector, the sleeve can support the nylon tube wall to prevent it from excessive deformation or collapse, thereby helping to maintain the airtightness at the connector.
Pull-off Resistance: Increased friction helps the connector resist accidental pull-off due to vibration or tension in the tubing.
