1. Permanent plugging: used for the ends of the pipeline system that do not need to be expanded (such as the terminal of the main pipeline), the pipeline is completely closed by compression sealing to prevent the leakage of the internal medium (liquid or gas);
2. Temporary plugging: During the installation, maintenance or pressure test of the pipeline, temporarily plug the unconnected joints (such as reserved interfaces) to prevent external dust, moisture or impurities from entering the pipeline, and avoid medium leakage during pressure testing;
3. Safety protection: For pipelines with high pressure or corrosive media, the reliable sealing of the head can reduce the safety risks caused by the unblocked end (such as medium injection, environmental pollution).

Sealing auxiliary measures: In low-pressure scenarios, you can wrap raw tape around the threads or apply sealant (such as PTFE sealant) to enhance sealing; in high-pressure scenarios, you need to rely on compression structures, and it is forbidden to rely too much on sealants (to prevent the glue layer from being washed away by the medium and becoming ineffective).
2. Tightening torque control: The torque must be matched according to the specifications (such as 10-15N・m for 1/4" head). Too loose may cause leakage, and too tight may cause thread stripping or head breakage (although brass has good toughness, it will still be damaged by excessive force).
3. Medium compatibility: Avoid using it in highly corrosive media (such as concentrated acid and strong alkali), otherwise the brass will be corroded and the sealing surface will be damaged (stainless steel heads should be used instead in such scenarios).
4. Reusability: Brass heads can be reused, but it is necessary to check whether the threads and sealing surfaces are intact (such as no deformation or scratches). If the threads are stripped or the sealing surface is damaged, they must be replaced immediately.
