Structure and function
1. Flare End
Expansion design: The metal tube end needs to be processed into a specific angle expansion (commonly 45°or 37°SAE/JIC standards), and a leak free connection is achieved by tightening the conical sealing surface with the expansion nut.
Sealing principle: No additional sealing material is required, relying on the compression of metal and metal cone surfaces to form an airtight/liquid seal.
Applicable pipe materials: copper, aluminum, or stainless steel pipes, which need to be prefabricated with standard expansion shapes in conjunction with expansion tools.
2. Male Pipe Thread (MPT)
Standard thread: usually American standard NPT or British standard BSP (British Standard Pipe), directly screwed into the internal thread interface of the equipment or valve body.
Sealing requirements: Teflon tape or thread sealant should be used to fill the thread gap to prevent leakage.
Material and process
1. Material: High purity brass , balancing corrosion resistance, ductility, and mechanical strength.
2. Surface treatment: Some models are nickel plated or chrome plated to enhance wear resistance and environmental corrosion resistance (such as salt spray and humid environments).
3. Internal smoothness: The inner wall is polished to reduce fluid resistance and sediment adhesion.
Application scenarios
Truck braking system:
Connect the metal brake pipeline to the brake valve, air tank, or ABS module to ensure reliable transmission of high-pressure air.
Advantages: Anti vibration, high pressure resistance (typical working pressure of 200~1500 PSI).
Fuel system:
Used for the transition connection between metal fuel pipes and fuel pumps, filters, or injectors in diesel/gasoline pipelines.
Brass material is compatible with biodiesel and conventional fuels, avoiding electrochemical corrosion.
Hydraulic system:
In industrial equipment or construction machinery, the external threaded interface connecting hydraulic hard pipes to pumps, valves, or oil cylinders.
Applicable media: Non corrosive fluids such as hydraulic oil and lubricating oil.
Refrigeration system:
In truck air conditioning or refrigeration equipment, the interface connecting the refrigerant pipeline to the compressor and condenser.
