Typical application scenarios
Installation of pressure gauge/sensor: A threaded interface is branched out on the main pipeline (compression connection) for installing a pressure gauge or sensor.
Connecting valves: A threaded interface is branched out on the main pipeline for installing ball valves, angle valves, etc. to control branch flow.
Equipment interface: Connect the main pipeline to equipment with internal thread interfaces (such as boilers, pumps, filters, coolers, etc.).
Conversion connection method: In the compression connection piping system, a component originally designed for threaded connection needs to be connected.
Instrument air pipeline: Provide a branch with a threaded interface for pneumatic tools or equipment on the compressed air main pipeline.
Hydraulic/lubricating oil circuit: Provide a branch on the main pipeline for lubrication points or hydraulic components that require threaded connections (pay attention to fluid compatibility).
Refrigeration system: Used to connect components with threaded interfaces such as pressure switches and sight glasses.
Products Description
Key considerations and installation points
Port identification, be sure to distinguish which is the compression end and which is the external thread end.
Thread standard confirmation, the external thread standard of the branch end must be clear (BSPP, BSPT, NPT, NPTF, etc.), and ensure that the internal thread port standard connected to it is completely matched. Mixing threads of different standards will result in loose connections, leakage, or even damage to the threads.
Sealing method selection:
Parallel threads must use suitable flat washers. The size and material must match (usually provided with the connector or purchased separately). When tightening, the end face seal can be formed by reaching the specified torque.
Tapered threads (BSPT/R, NPT/NPTF): Thread sealants (such as PTFE raw tape or anaerobic thread glue) must be used. The raw tape must be wound in the correct direction (in the direction of the thread) and the number of turns is moderate (usually 2-4 turns). When tightening, the appropriate tightness must be achieved. Over-tightening may cause cracking.
Compression end installation: Strictly follow the standard compression joint installation specifications:
The pipe is cut flat and burred.
The pipe is fully inserted into the body.
Use two wrenches (one to hold the body and one to tighten the nut).
Tighten to the number of turns specified by the manufacturer. Do not overtighten.
Pipe compatibility: Compression ends are only suitable for specified rigid pipe OD (such as copper pipe, certain stainless steel pipe). Make sure the pipe material and OD match the fitting specifications.
Pressure and temperature: Confirm that the rated working pressure and temperature range of the fitting meet the system requirements.
Fluid compatibility: Make sure the brass material is suitable for the fluid being transported. Only use products that are clearly certified for use in gas systems.
Avoid stress: After installation, make sure that the piping system does not impose excessive bending or torsional stress on the tee fitting.
