Product Introduction

Reliable pipe connections are critical for industrial distributors and OEM assembly lines where downstream component failures cause expensive field claims. A brass union provides a robust, mechanically sealed connection that allows system installers to disconnect and service pumps, valves, or regulators without cutting or rotating the existing pipe run.

As an ISO-certified industrial brass fitting manufacturer, we control the entire production line in-house: from forging and spectrographic alloy verification to multi-axis CNC precision threading. We supply stock and custom brass unions that maintain tight dimensional tolerances, clear thread profiles, and reliable metal-to-metal or gasket seating for global distribution networks.

Thread Standards & Dimensional Gauging

Mismatched thread pitches or shallow thread depths are the number one cause of installation leakage. Our machining centers are programmed to meet exact global specifications:

NPT (Tapered Pipe Thread)
Engineered to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 specifications for North American high-friction mechanical seals.

BSP / BSPT
Machined to BS 21 / ISO 7 for parallel or tapered sealing in European and Commonwealth distribution grids.

G Thread (Parallel)
Conforms to ISO 228-1 for straight-thread connections utilizing an elastomeric flat washer or O-ring seat.

Product Architecture & Applications

A brass pipe union is a three-piece mechanical assembly engineered for quick-disconnect piping layouts. It consists of:

  • The Male Tailpiece: Threaded externally to connect to standard female pipe ends.
  • The Female Tailpiece: Threaded internally to fit standard male adapters or nipples.
  • The Heavy-Wall Union Nut: The central component that draws the two tailpieces together, compressing the internal sealing seat under high mechanical torque.

Unlike standard couplings, a union allows for complete isolation of equipment without introducing rotational stress into the piping manifold.

Target Applications & System Deployments

Commercial & Residential Hydronics

  • Boiler headers
  • Chiller loops
  • Heat exchanger ports

Water Utilities & Supply

  • Water meter connections
  • Pressure-reducing valves (PRV)
  • Backflow preventers

Industrial Pump Manifolds
Suction and discharge line connections for rapid pump swap-outs

Fuel & Gas Lines
Low-pressure LPG/natural gas distribution lines (where specified by local mechanical codes)

Factory Quality Control & Process Traceability

Below is our standard operating procedure for every production run of brass unions:

[Incoming Raw Material]  [Spectrometer Alloy Test]  [Hot Forging / Bar Cutting] [Thread Go/No-Go Inspection]  [Multi-Axis CNC Machining]  [Dimensional Audit]  [Air Under Water Leak Test]  [Surface Treatment / Cleaning]  [Batch Logging & Packing]

Supply Chain, Packaging, & OEM Logistics

Flexible MOQ & Container Consolidation
We accommodate multi-size SKU lists for industrial wholesale distributors. You can combine various sizes (e.g., 1/2" up to 2") and thread types (NPT and BSP) within a single purchase order to optimize your inventory capital.

Private Labeling & Laser Etching
For OEM clients and private labels, we provide automated fiber laser marking on the union nut flats (Logo, Size, Material Grade, and Batch Code) for complete job-site traceability.

Industrial Export Packaging
All brass components are cleaned, packed in heavy-duty polyethylene bags to prevent thread damage during transit, and boxed in double-wall corrugated cartons secured on ISPM-15 heat-treated export pallets.

FAQ

Q: How do you prevent stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in your brass unions?

A: We monitor the zinc content in our brass formulations and utilize stress-relief annealing for all hot-forging configurations. This process eliminates residual internal stresses introduced during the forging process, protecting the fitting against premature cracking when exposed to ammonia or corrosive fluid environments.

Q: Can your brass unions handle steam applications?

A: Standard metal-to-metal tapered seat brass unions can handle low-pressure saturated steam. However, for high-temperature steam lines, we recommend our specialized unions fitted with premium PTFE or synthetic graphite gaskets. Please specify your exact medium and operating temperature when requesting a quote.

Q: What documentation do you provide with bulk shipments?

A: Every bulk wholesale shipment can be provided with a complete documentation packet upon request. This includes the Material Test Certificate (showing chemical composition and tensile data), a Dimensional Inspection Sheet, and our standard Certificate of Compliance (CoC).

Q: What is the typical lead time for a standard 20ft container order?

A: Our standard production lead time is 35 to 45 days from deposit confirmation and technical drawing sign-off. For established distributors with recurring annual forecasts, we can maintain dedicated safety stock in our warehouse for immediate release.

Q: Do you provide custom 3D STEP files for engineering layout approvals?

A: Yes. For OEM applications and custom designs, our engineering department will generate detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD files (STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks formats) for your engineering team to verify before we commit to tooling or production.
